accomplishments of the day - wed 3/12

I have been back in new york for about a week, filled in at work, got a mac makeover, drank some margaritas and promptly ate a great deal of asian food. weird.

but I'm back and I have made numerous attempts to get back on track.
this is what I did JUST TODAY, my first official day of unemployment. again.

1. woke up early
2. went to a Jenny Craig meeting. back up and I need to get down. new goal setg :)
3. dealt with 7 train drama
4. sent packages at the post office
5. went grocery shopping
6. rolled coins from my cow bank on my living room rug
7. cut up some veggies
8. put up some listings on eBay
9. called my landlord re: my leaky ceiling
10. took the Q60 to the bally total fitness and took a class
11. met a new friend in class (who is my complete twin, 4 mo behind me)
12. rented a zipcar

lots done. getting back on track never felt so good.
(accept when I had had to finish off those cookies in my apt this afternoon, before really following my jenny program again. ha!)

florida & maryland

hey everyone. so here's a update about the past few days:

- the woman at Quantas told me to put my 3rd bag into my other two bags, that were allowed to be 32kg since it was an international flight, and said I shouldn't have a problem with the AA regualations since she was checking the bags straight through to JFK. I didn't have to pay anything :)

- slept about 5 hours in my own bed before flying out of LaGuardia to Daytona Beach. didn't sleep. read my Stephen King short stories book

- dressed for the wake on Thursday night, funeral on Friday morning, then spent time with my aunt and uncle at my grandmother's house

- the entire time in Florida, I didn't sleep well and had very VERY bizarre dreams

- traveled on Southwest Airlines from Orlando to BWI yesterday and with Dad in a wheelchair b/c of his knee replacement surgery and a total of 5 bags to be checked, we turned into that arguing family that everyone looks at (but tried not to) at the airport

- we DID however get to skip completely the incredibly long security line b/c Dad was in a wheelchair

- got to the house and saw our brand new kitchen that Mom recently redid. it's very sleek and modern and I will post a pic soon

- switched rooms with Dad and now my bedroom (very messy with too much stuff) is his old office and had a pretty good night's sleep

- went with Elizabeth to drop off her daughter at my old school, Calverton and ran into some people there, including my old field hockey coach. also saw pictures of myself in the new school hallway. creepy.

- relaxing and sorting out some stuff in my new room before heading to the hospital with Mom and Dad for Mom's dental surgery

- am very hungry, as I woke very early today (6:50 am)

- trying desperately to maintain some tan for everyone back in New York :)
