bacheloretting it up in Michigan

now I am just getting to the age where friends are getting married. jenny's sister leah is getting married in April back home in Maryland, but moved out to Grass Lake, Michigan this last year to set up shop with her fiance. this being said, I have actually never particiapted in a bachelorette party before and this weekend was not what I expected. that may be a little unfair for me to say, as the whole family is loud and fun, but it was more low key than rowdy. but fun nonetheless :)

the flight to Detoit was super short, literally just over an hour of flight time! and we spent a good amount of time in the 12 passenger van driving to the casino, back to the house and out to Ann Arbor. our motto of the weekend was seriously EAT DRIVE DRINK GAMBLE.

Soaring Eagle Casino in Mt. Pleasant, MI was very cool and I definately did it up in my dress and stilettos for my evening playing blackjack and the slots. everyone else was wearing jeans. of course I won some money on both, but put it back in and left Saturday a bit poorer. Jenny's mom won $1000 by playing $3 in a slot machine, then won another $60! atleast she treated us to lunch at Bob Evans down the road ;)

Saturday night I got all gussied up in jeans and a cute red top before we headed into Ann Arbor for drinks and dinner at Grizzly Peak Brewery. the food and beer was delicious. plans were switched from bar hoping to going back to the house and playing a little texas hold-em. I don't play, so Jessica and I curled up on the couch, munching on some snacks and watching the train wreck that is Rock of Love Bus with Bret Michaels. what a night! we also talked a lot about Jenny's wedding in 2010 since there were wedding mags all around Leah's house.

before we headed to the airport on Sunday, we ate lunch at an Oprah approved deli in Ann Arbor called Zingerman's. so good! I got the #67- corned beef, pastrami, yellow mustard, spicy mustard on pumpernickle and rye bread. ah-mazing! below: jenny at the cheese counter!

all in all, it was not as crazy as I expected, although Leah did blush when we sang happy birthday to her Saturday night! no crazy pranks or penis necklaces allowed! but it was a fantastic weekend and just makes us all so very excited for the wedding in a few weeks!!!!
